Our referral process
A typical referral follows these steps. Timescales can be adjusted for urgent placements — please call us directly if a decision is needed quickly.
Initial enquiry
You contact us by phone or via the form below with a brief, non-identifying overview of the placement need (age, gender, general needs, timescale).
Information sharing
If we may be able to help, we agree a secure method with you to share the child's placement information, risk assessment and care plan.
Assessment and matching
We assess the referral against our Statement of Purpose and current placement group, to check we can safely meet the young person's needs.
Placement agreement
We confirm suitability, agree terms with the placing authority, and arrange introductions where appropriate.
Placement start and review
The young person moves in with an individual placement plan, reviewed regularly with the local authority and other professionals involved.
Registration, policies and key documents
Information placing authorities and commissioning teams typically need as part of due diligence.
Ofsted registration
Westmere Care Limited is a new provider and has not yet applied for registration as a children's home with Ofsted. We are preparing our application and will publish our registration status, URN and inspection reports here as soon as registration is underway.
Statement of Purpose & Children's Guide
Our Statement of Purpose and Children's Guide are being prepared as part of our registration process. Both will be shared with placing authorities on request and published here once complete.
Complaints procedure
We want to hear about any concern quickly, so it can be put right. In the first instance, a concern can be raised informally with a member of staff or with the home's manager. If it isn't resolved that way, it can be made formally in writing to the manager, who will investigate and respond as quickly as possible. Any complaint that cannot be resolved directly with us can be raised with the placing local authority or, once we are registered, with Ofsted.
Safeguarding & whistleblowing
Safeguarding the children and young people in our care comes first in everything we do. All staff receive safeguarding and safer-recruitment training, and know how to raise a concern about a colleague's conduct through our whistleblowing policy. Full copies of our safeguarding and whistleblowing policies are available to placing authorities and professionals on request.
Please do not submit child-identifying information through this website
The form below is for an initial, general enquiry only. Please do not include a child's name, date of birth, or other identifying or sensitive information. Once we have made contact, we will agree a secure route (phone or a protected email/portal) for sharing placement paperwork in line with data protection requirements.
